Phyllis Diller

Amazing icicle formations set the scene for Will Gadd to attempt Phyllis Diller (M10), a hard mixed route, in a cave on the Stanley Headwall, British Columbia, Canada.

“Come up to Canada and get some shots…” he said. And so it was that Will Gadd’s @realwillgadd comment lead to a flight and a hike and eventually this… and actually it was a fun day out with Will and Kim Csizmazia up at the #StanleyHeadwall, in BC, Canada. Will was attempting Phyllis Diller (M10), a hard mixed route, and the amazing icicle formations in the back of the cave fascinated me. We don’t get them around here, no sir… And so, looking for a way to show the uniqueness of the place as I often do, I found myself carefully crawling around to the back of the cave and discovered this angle. That tall skinny icicle was over a meter high and less than an inch thick! #goodtimes #throwback (2000). With thanks to @blackdiamond @thenorthface for kitting us out for our spur of the moment winter trip.
